Introducing the Lost & Stolen Register: Report Any Bike, Registered or Not
Your bike has gone. Maybe the whole bike off a rack, maybe just the wheels, the saddle, or the computer off the bars. Until now, if it was never registered and you don't have the frame number to hand, there was nowhere obvious to raise the alarm. Our new Lost & Stolen Register fixes that — anyone can report anything, in under two minutes, with no account.
Why it matters
Around 49,000 bike thefts are recorded in the UK each year — and only about one in nine stolen bikes ever finds its way home. Speed and visibility are everything. The sooner a bike is flagged and shared, the more eyes are looking.
What the register is
It's a public, community alert board at thebikeregister.co.uk/stolen. Every report becomes a shareable alert page that cyclists, shops and passers-by can see. It does not matter whether the bike was ever registered here, and you do not need a serial number — tell us what you can and we publish the alert.
Report in under two minutes
Head to Report something lost or stolen and fill in what you know: whether it was lost or stolen and what it is; the make, model and colour; any distinguishing features and the frame number if you have it; where and when it was last seen; and how people can reach you.
No frame number? No problem. A clear photo, the colour and a rough location are often enough for someone to recognise your bike. Add the serial if you have it, but never let its absence stop you reporting.
What happens next
